FY11 UEPH Schofield Barracks
This $35M military housing facility included new construction of 114 residential units within 6 floors and totaled 97,893 SF. The facility features full kitchens within each unit, a central laundry room on each floor, activity room, lobby, mail room, Charge of Quarters (CQ) station, vending, and pay phones. Outdoor amenities include bicycle, motorcycle and picnic shelters. Additional work included a central plant building, trash enclosure new sidewalks, a 145-space surface asphalt parking lot with drop-off area in the right of way, and all associated site work, designed in accordance with Department of the Army MILCON Transformation. The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
The project earned several awards, including the 2014 Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) National Award of Excellence, the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) 2014 Silver Design Excellence Award, and a USACE Honolulu District Certificate of Accomplishment for achieving over 100,000 man-hours without a lost-time or recordable accident on the project.
