Eastside Catholic School
This negotiated private high school/middle school project is situated on a 50-acre site on the Sammamish plateau. The three-story complex is comprised of a series of masonry veneer and curtainwall buildings with pitched standing seem metal roofs. The buildings are organized around one central academic courtyard for studying and viewing the open landscape. In addition to the classrooms, the project included administrative offices, a commons area, library, science wings, gymnasium, football field and a chapel. Absher was brought onto the team at conceptual-design to work with the design team on an extensive preconstruction phase. At the schematic-design stage, we broke down the master plan by area to provide cost estimates by component. ECS used this information in their fundraising, and in determining what scopes to incorporate into Phase I. Absher also assisted with systems and life-cycle cost analyses.
