How do you take an iconic lodge and make it contemporary, while staying true to its homey, mountainside roots?
Built in 1916 as an eight-room travelers’ inn, Salish Lodge has grown to become an 86-room, iconic getaway experience. Famous for its house-hived honeyed biscuits and being the setting of David Lynch’s murder mystery show Twin Peaks™, Salish Lodge renovations had to incorporate modern amenities without compromising its uniquely Pacific Northwest look and feel.
This project showcased the flexibility of our virtual design construction team. Since we had to complete 84 rooms in three months while the Lodge remained in operation, we had to minimize rework to streamline the schedule. We did that by creating a virtual mockup of a standard king room. This way, we could see all the pieces together before ordering materials. As we looked at everything together with Salish Lodge owners, we were able to make design adjustments in the virtual mockup before installation, saving time and money.
