Absher and design partner GGLO are delighted to share that the WSU Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center won multiple honors at the 2018 Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) annual awards. The DBIA awards honor the nation’s best design-build projects and leaders.
The DBIA recognized Absher and GGLO’s achievements in flexibility and foresight. Throughout the cultural center project design-build delivery celebrated a collaboration of ideas, knowledge, skills and abilities. This collaborative process maximized and elevated the creative product of all team members to facilitate a singular solution to the client’s vision.
The awards won are:
- Chairman’s Award for Community Impact and Social Responsibility, which recognizes design-build teams who have shown extraordinary commitment to “triple bottom line” success – people, profit and planet.
- Excellence in Design – Architecture
- Merit Award in Educational Facilities
The Floyd Center was also nominated for the Excellence in Teaming award.
