DESC Burbridge Place (Greenlake)
The $21.5M multi-family facility includes new construction of 124 residential units within five floors, totaling 60,000 SF. As part of DESC’s mission to end homelessness for vulnerable people, this building serves as permanent supportive housing with a 24/7 support staff and space for on-site clinical services. Within this mid-rise building, there is a warming kitchen, an outdoor courtyard, a nurse station, a counseling and quiet room, a staff lounge, and staff bathroom facilities, along with other community spaces for group activities.
Absher was able to self-perform 50% of the project, including concrete, modular unit construction, wall panel installation, toilet/bath accessories installation, handrails, guardrails, cabinet installation, door frames, and hardware. Additional site work at the Burbridge Place project included earthwork, landscaping, irrigation, concrete flatwork, and asphalt paving.
Sustainable features of the DESC Burbridge Place include a rooftop solar array, daylighting controls, and power and water monitoring systems.
